All PVE characters' inventory
Backpack - Expert Salvage Kit, ID Kit, Mini pet, and items I pick up while playing
Belt - Hero's Handbooks (NM and HM), Rebirth Scrolls, Individual DP removal consumables, and Party DP removal consumables (never use the latter 3, but better to be prepared)
Bag 1 - Armors I regularly use
Bag 2 - Weapons I regularly use
Storage
Slot 1 - Items that need to be distributed/transferred to different characters/mules
Slot 2 - Spare Mini pets
Slot 3 - Dungeon Books
Slot 4 - Consumables
Primay account mules
Merchant mule - For storing items that are for sale
Weapons mule - Spare weapons that I sometimes use, but don't have room in character inventory
Armor mule - Spare armors that I sometimes use, but don't have room in character inventory
Items mule - Special collector items (DoA gems for example)
Stacks mule - Common collector items that can be traded for weapons (mummy wrappings for example) and dyes
Transfer mule - For storing items that need to be moved to my 2nd account
Inscriptions mule - For storing inscriptions
Melee mods mule - For storing melee mods
Range mods mule - For storing range mods
Runes mule - For storing expensive runes that I regularly use (I sell all expensive runes I don't use, like Sup Vigor)
2ndary account mules
Several random mules for storing weapons that I may use in the future. Not organized in any way.
I have 500 builds and create/delete/edit builds on a constant basis, so I need to save different weapons/mods since I have no money to buy new stuff.
EDIT: I must say, reading some of other people's set up has given me an idea. I think I'll go edit my storage/inventory set up when I get home.

when you weapon swap to a two handed setup and then back do your weapons go back to different packs? mine do .. annoys the hell out of me.
should be able to lock them in position.

I'm very uptight about storage, so I try to keep things in order...
Backpack- Superior Salvage Kit | Superior Identification Kit | Lockpicks | Minipet (Acting as Merchant Blocker)
Belt Pouch- Nothing
Bag (Rune of Holding)-Nothing, unless overflow from below.
Bag (Rune of Holding)- Starting from the last slot I fill it up with Armor Sets and Weapons. I move items to storage if I think I will need the space. The first space is a Darksteel Longbow (Acting as Merchant Blocker)
_____
Storage Tab #1-Dyes (Yellow, Orange, Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Silver, White, Black, Gray), and Tomes (whatever I have laying around)
Storage Tab #2-Consumables (Essences, Grails, Salvation, Pumpkin Pie, Honey Combs, Elixirs, Wintergreen Candy Canes, Rainbow Candy Canes, Peppermint Candy Canes). Last two rows are empty.
Storage Tab #3-Perfect Salvage Kits, Superior Salvage Kits and Superior Identification Kits for back up. Passage Scrolls to Underworld, stash of Zaishen Keys. Last two rows are empty.
Storage Tab #4-Materials- Several spare stacks of Cloth, Iron, Wood, Grainte, Feathers and Dust that I've compiles. Last row is empty.
_____
Mules, they deserve recognition!
Separate mules have different purposes:
-Ritualist: Golds (Mostly melee weapons)
-Ranger: Golds (Mostly spell caster weapons and bows)
-Monk: Golds (Overflow from Ranger)
-Assassin: Sword, Axe, Hammer, Daggers, Spear and Scythe mods
-Necromancer: Staff, Wand, Bow and Shield mods
-Elementalist #2: Inscriptions
-Mesmer: Collectable Items (Trade Contracts, Imperial Commendations, etc.), Festival Items that I've stockpiled (Trans. Tonic, Fruitcakes, etc.)
-Warrior #2: Random stuff

My monk's essentials
Generally I keep everything towards the bottom, this includes spare set of armor, a headpiece, a few weapons, pulling bow, minipet, novelty hat for silly screenshots with friends, EotN book, ID/Sal kit.
Storage Slot 1 is Tokens for Sal kits and the like, collectables like Norn Tokens, Supe Charr Carvings and that sort of thing.
Second slot is storage for my Ele and Warrior. Since they tend to have a lot of weapon swaps + head-swaps.
Third Slot is my monk's stuff. Dump the shields she doesn't need in there.
Fourth slot is dyes + tomes.
One mule for Ranger's armors + weapons
One mule for Ele's armors + weapons
One mule for Warrior's armors + weapons
One mule for Random junk (minis, weapons, collector things)
One mule for Random weapons
One mule for mods + materials
One mule for useless shit. I used to have a screenshot of my useless shit mule, but it's stuff like a Chalice of Corruption, 250 Votive Candles, 250 Juicy Heket Legs, various trinkets from pre, various letters to different NPCs.
Yeeeeah I have too much stuff .
